Emily Elgar
Emily Elgar joined the CivWorld staff in April 2009 as Projects Coordinator. Since completing her MA in Social Anthropology at Edinburgh University (where she specialized in indigenous female identity in Guatemala) Emily worked her way up from a runner to a documentary producer specializing in socially conscious documentary films for the BBC and HBO. The films cover a wide range of issues from sex trafficking in the UK to the relationship between mental health issues and music and 13 short films about exceptional individual philanthropy. After 8 months in Southern Africa where she was co-writing a guide book to the region Emily has left England once again to join CivWorld and to take on the challenge of producing Interdependence Day, Istanbul.
