Interdependence Day II - On September 11-12, 2004, in Rome, a two day event unfolded with the support of Mayor Walter Veltroni and then European Commission President Romano Prodi.

A 9/11 open air memorial concert on Michaelangelo’s Compodorio played to several thousand people.

Representatives of the Catholic Church and both the Jewish and Muslim communities held an inter-religious dialogue with Chiara Lubich’s international faith organization, Focolare.

Mayor Veltroni hosted the Interdependence Day ceremony at which a special European Charter of Interdependence was signed.

Simultaneous events were held in Ghana, Pakistan, and on campuses in the United States.
