On September 10-12, 2005, in Paris, France, the Third Interdependence Day brought together hundreds of students, politicians, artists and intellectuals from two dozen countries in three major events: an international NGO conference chaired by Bernard Kouchner and Lord Frank Judd at the American University of Paris; an artists’ roundtable and concert chaired by former Minister of Culture Jack Lang at the Opera Bastille, keynoted by Congressman Dennis Kucinich; and a signing ceremony at the Hotel De Ville (Paris City Hall) featuring Harry Belafonte, Mayor Bertrand Delanoë, former Minister of Finance Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former President of Slovenia Milan Kučan, former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard and many others.
Interdependence ceremonies were held in several other venues and nations, notably a major celebration at Penn State University in the USA.
